With contemporary English mounts, of bombe form, the domed cover painted with two ladies seated within a Chinese domestic interior, one lady holding a fan gesturing to a fenced garden, within a gilt and pencilled black asymmetrical taotie dragon cartouche flanked by two smaller rectangular panels containing puce mountainous landscapes against a stylised gilt diaper ground, finely pencilled with bats amongst scrollwork in sepia, the interior of the cover depicting a lady seated at a rocky table attended by a servant, a small censer, hand warmer and flower vase beside her on a rocky outcrop, all within a quatre-lobed cartouche pencilled in black reserved against a gilt ground, the exterior painted with two further panels of elegant ladies in domestic interiors, taking tea, playing music and accompanied by a boy reserved against a gilt and sepia bat and cloud ground, flanked by quatre-lobed panels containing southern Chinese landscapes, the underside painted with a river landscape in puce
