Painted with a lady wearing a fur-lined winter robe, a bird perched on her left hand, a dragonfly in the other, all before a marbled table screen, beneath a blue and gilt curtain, the fringe highlighted in gilding, original Chinese rosewood frame.

A pair of similarly framed reverse glass paintings is illustrated by Jan Wirgin, 'Fran Kina till Europa', Ostasiatiska Museet, Stockholm, 1998, p.297, plate. 306. Where the author recounts that the paintings bear an inscription relating to the Grave family, who were close friends & business associates of a Director of the Swedish East India Company, Claes Grill.
